White corrugated sheet - the cleanest choice for roofs and façades
White is the eternal classic that never goes out of fashion. It suits every kind of building - family home, garage, agricultural building, warehouse. If you cannot decide which colour to choose, with white you definitely cannot go wrong.
Many people today go for anthracite or black because it is trendy. But consider: white will look just as good twenty years from now. You do not have to worry that a few years down the line your building will feel "dated". White is always in season.
Who do we recommend it to?
- You are building a warehouse, workshop or shop where a clean, tidy look matters
- You are planning a house where the roof and façade should give a coherent, light overall look
- Your building faces south and you do not want it to be unbearably hot inside in summer
- You want a colour for which accessories - gutters, flashings, roofing screws - are easy to find
What are the properties of the white corrugated sheet?
It does not overheat in summer - this is white's biggest advantage
A white surface reflects most of the solar radiation instead of absorbing it. In practice this means that on a hot summer day a white sheet stays far cooler than a dark colour. While a black sheet can reach 80-90 °C in the sun, white only climbs to 45-55 °C.
This is not just a curiosity - you can feel the difference beneath the roof structure, too. Less heat comes in, less air conditioning is needed in summer. For a hall or workshop, where there is no loft floor, this saves serious money on the electricity bill.
If your goal is to minimise heat load in summer, white is the best choice from our whole range. Many of our customers decided in its favour for exactly this reason.
It does not fade - it stays white for decades
One of white's hidden advantages is that ageing is practically invisible on it. On other colours, fading is sometimes noticeable after 10-15 years - with white you cannot see it with the naked eye. Twenty years from now the sheet will still look white; it does not yellow or turn cream.
The same protection as any other colour
The white sheet is made with exactly the same coating system as all our other colours. Rust protection does not depend on the colour, but on the type and thickness of the coating - and that is identical in quality across every colour.
What does the white sheet go with?
White roof + white façade
A clean, elegant overall look. Especially nice when window frames and the plinth provide contrast - for example with anthracite windows and a dark-grey plinth.
White façade + anthracite roof
This is currently the most popular pairing in Hungary - a great many of our customers choose it. The contrast gives the building a modern, decisive feel.
White roof + brick or stone façade
A proven classic for warehouses and retail buildings. The white roof makes an otherwise solid-fronted building feel lighter and airier.
White + wood-grain combination
White complements wood-grain corrugated sheet beautifully. The white backdrop brings out the natural warmth of the wood effect - particularly attractive on fences and façades.
Accessories
White is the easiest colour to find accessories for. The factory white of uPVC windows matches it almost perfectly. Gutter, flashing, bargeboard, roofing screw - all are available in white, no need to hunt around.
Local building code
White rarely causes trouble at the permitting stage - unlike, say, blue or black. Some municipalities, however, require the roof colour to be "traditional tile-coloured", which can also rule out white on the roof (though generally not on the façade).
Installation notes for white sheet
Thermal expansion - less to worry about
Since white heats up less, it also expands less. A 6-metre white panel moves at most 2-2.5 mm - half of what a black one does. The general installation rules still apply, of course.
Dirt - watch this
The one downside of a white sheet is that dirt shows up more. In industrial surroundings, dust and soot become visible sooner. Near trees, green algae are conspicuous too. But do not worry - a low-pressure wash once or twice a year and it is bright again.
How does the white corrugated sheet age?
White is one of the most rewarding colours over the long term. Here is what you can expect over the years:
Practically unchanged. If you clean it regularly, it looks as it did on day one.
A slight shift in tone is possible - but you will not notice it with the naked eye; only an instrument could measure it.
The surface may become more matt. On white, though, this is the least disturbing of any colour, because the matt layer itself is white. Typically no repainting is needed throughout its service life.
If the surface should ever get damaged, white touch-up paint is available in any paint shop - no special colour mixing required.
